A 30year Dream...
This is me back in 1999.
While I launched Fair Bump in 2022, it's something I've been building my entire life.
Fair Bump isn’t a meaningless logo slapped onto tees, Fair Bump is a cartoon manifestation of me; my personality, my imagination, my thoughts and decades of hard work, day dreaming, practice and sacrifices.
It's my attempt at sharing the world that I've been able to see in my mind since the age of six with the real world, with you.
It's my attempt at making others feel the same way I felt when watching Looney Tunes cartoons, reading Asterix Comics and watching Disney movies as a child.
It's my attempt to make a living out of my imagination and art.
Why a Clothing Brand?
While I've been drawing since the age of five, I have been working in the screen printing industry since 2013.
Having a passion for design and an interest in screen-printing, I day dreamt of running my own clothing brand - especially while stuck in a dead end, minimum wage job that was lacking any creative stimulation - Though what would I call the brand? and what would the brand be about?
Luckily my good mate, Harry (who you can see plastered across the website modelling my merch) inspired the brand name when one fateful day in 2018, we were having a silly debate in which I said something that Harry thought was a fair point. He extended his fist, gave me a fist bump and said 'Fair Bump' - BOOM! It was like a jolt of electricity had been bumped through my brain. I knew at that very moment Fair Bump was the brand name.
Had the name, but I had no idea what the brand would be based around.
That was until 2020, while trapped alone in my house during the pandemic, I began digging through my old, childhood drawings and thus reconnected with my childhood characters - then it hit me.
Why not print my characters!? Why not use this imaginary world I created as a kid!? The thought of being wiped out by Covid and have never had the chance to share my characters with the world became a haunting thought.
And here we are...
That's enough from me - I hope I did a good job explaining this whacky brand.
